Artists Susan Martin and Shannon Maher forged a lakeside friendship in Wisconsin and later carried it to the shores of the San Francisco Bay Area. Stinson Beach is a favorite place for them to unwind with their families and find inspiration in the changing winds and light. Sharing an inclination to experience the world with their eyes turned to the ground where they walk, they search for fallen seeds, pods and leaves.

“We find and harbor collections of objects with unique stories. There exists a beautiful tension between the perfection of nature’s repeated patterns and shapes, and the wear and markings of time and the environment. It is here that we find poetry and grace.
